Masterclass Mélody Boulissière 14.03/ 11.30 @ Goethe - Institut
From Short Films to Series: The Journey Behind Patouille & Momo
SYAA is pleased to host a special masterclass with French director Mélody Boulissière, co-organized with PRO TV and VOYO, in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut.
Titled “From Short Films to Series: The Journey Behind Patouille & Momo,” the masterclass explores how a small, personal animated project can evolve into a series format. Mélody Boulissière will discuss the creative process behind her work, the challenges of adapting ideas for television, and the collaboration involved in bringing animated characters to life for younger audiences.
Drawing from her experience as co-creator of the series Patouille & Momo, she will also talk about storytelling, character development, and the transition from auteur-driven short films to larger collaborative productions.
The masterclass will take place on 14 March 2026 at the Goethe-Institut (Calea Dorobanți nr. 32) starting 11:30 and will be followed by a cocktail reception. Admission is free.
The event offers animation students, young filmmakers, and industry professionals the opportunity to learn directly from an internationally active animation director and to discuss the creative pathways between short films and series production.
“From Short Films to Series: The Journey Behind Patouille & Momo” is an event organized in the framework of SYAA, a workshop organised by Animest and the Animation Festival Network, co-financed by Eurimages and Creative Europe MEDIA, with the support of PRO TV, VOYO, Goethe-Institut, UNATC “I.L.Caragiale”, Austrian Cultural Forum, Tricky Women / Tricky Realities and Studioset; Hosted by the National Literature Museum; Fuelled by KAFUNE
