Open Call SYAA 2026
SYAA 2026 – Call for Applications is Now Open - NEW DEADLINE 19 DEC 2025!
SYAA continues in 2026, and we are thrilled to announce the call for the 6th edition of the Sisterhood of Young Animation Auteurs (SYAA) program, taking place in Bucharest from March 8 to 15, 2026.
SYAA, initiated by Animest in collaboration with Animation Festival Network encourages and promotes talent and is an intensive study programme that brings together emerging talents in the world of animated film with professionals from the European industry. Over the course of 7 days, mentors will provide the 10 selected participants with script consultancy, as well as professional advice on the development of concept art, production or distribution, and behind-the-scenes insights from the industry, based on their own experiences.
This call is open to animation film directors working on their first or second film. There is no age limit, and student participation is highly encouraged, as long as all other criteria are met. Participants will engage in one-on-one discussions with industry professionals, refine their ideas, and develop their projects alongside a group of creatives and peers from the animation industry.
Applications are welcome from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Ukraine. Participation in the program is free of charge, and applications can be submitted until December 19, 2025, via the online form: https://www.syaa.animest.ro/en/apply. The programme will be conducted in English, and all application materials must also be submitted in English.
